ARMA Academy is a tin shed on an industrial estate, with mats end to end and bags down one wall. A couple who met training run it: Jiu Jitsu six days a week, Muay Thai three nights, and plans to start hosting competitions that draw fighters from across the state. That ambition set the constraint. At competitions, spectators sit on every side of the mat, so the mark had to read the same upside down. I started from the triangle, a symbol with deep roots in Jiu Jitsu. Large triangles cut with smaller ones form every letter in ARMA. Flipped and paired, they make a mark that is identical from either end. From there it grew into a full system of wordmark, colour and pattern, built to hold up from any seat in the house.
